Find out how the NFMA is involved in some of the major projects on GASB’s agenda. We’ll focus on the Financial Reporting Model project which aims to tackle some significant improvements including how governmental funds are reported. We’ll go through the GASB proposal, the NFMA’s response, and hear how the proposals were received generally by GASB’s stakeholders.

We will also discuss a project on disclosures which could impact the amount and types of note disclosures in financial statements going forward. This is an important matter as it pertains to disclosure of information that provides context for what is presented on the face of the financials. A forthcoming proposal introduces several new and undefined terms and/or thresholds, which could lead to less disclosure.
