Our New Normal: Are Georgia’s communities prepared for changing weather?

hosted by The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Alumni Relations, the SMFS and the NFMA

Hurricanes, flooding, wildfires, tornadoes, and extreme heat have been increasing in frequency and intensity. These perils damage infrastructure, personal and commercial property and agriculture, and affect health and well-being of area residents. How are Georgia’s municipalities investing in protecting local resources, mitigating damage and adapting to trends that are likely to continue?

Join us on Tuesday, September 24 for a networking lunch and expert panel to discuss these questions with members of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts (NFMA) and leading GSU Alumni from the following organizations and companies:

Atlanta Regional Commission – Natural Resources Group

• Asset Preservation Advisors

• Georgia Emergency Management– Homeland Security

AYS students, alumni and members of NFMA and Southern Municipal Finance Society (SMFA) are invited to network and gain insight into this pressing topic.
